As always, we respect Floridians’ right to weigh the issues important to them and cast a ballot for the candidate who best reflects their values. For our members, however, real estate is a vital issue.  These Association-selected candidates understand the value of homeownership and the importance of pro-homeownership laws in Florida. 

The West Volusia Association of REALTORS^® is recommending the following candidates for local level and state level November elections: 

Mike Kolba for the City of DeBary Seat 1 

Nick Koval for the City of DeBary Seat 2 

Lita Handy Peters for the City of DeBary Seat 3 

John Masiarczyk Sr. for the City of Deltona Mayor 

Heather Joy Mitchell for the City of Deltona District 3 

Fred Nelson Lowry Jr. for the City of Deltona District 5 

Margie Patchett for the County of Volusia At Large Seat 

Alan Hays for State Senate District 20 

Fred Costello for State House Seat 26 

Dorothy Hukill for State House Seat 28 

A special screening panel of the Association conducted interviews with the candidates for the local elections.  They concluded, following extensive questioning, that these candidates should be recommended. 

The West Volusia Association of REALTORS^® currently has a membership of over 800 members.  Interviews with the candidates were designed primarily to provide the Association’s membership with information regarding recommendations for the different positions in the upcoming elections. 

The West Volusia Association of REALTORS^® serves as the voice for real estate in West Volusia County.  It provides programs, services, continuing education, technology resources, and market information to more than almost 800 REALTOR^® and affiliate members.
